Angry Birds Star Wars teaser is out, launch date confirmed
Rovio's latest hit video game, Bad Piggies, might not have much to do with Angry Birds when it comes to gameplay, but that doesn't mean that the company is all done with the latter franchise. In fact, a follow up is to be released really soon – Angry Birds Star Wars, and the first video teaser has already been unveiled online.
As you will see in the video below, original footage from Star Wars: Episode IV has been used in the trailer. And that is a big deal: Lucasfilm rarely allows content that it owns to be used in such ways. A total of 8 trailers are to be revealed prior to the launch of Angry Birds Star Wars, and a 3-minute animated video featuring the characters in the game will be among them.
And as far as the game's launch date is concerned, Angry Birds Star Wars will be launched on November 8, although we aren't really sure whether the release date will coincide for all the different platform versions. The game will be available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Mac, PC, Windows 8, and on the Amazon Kindle Fire. Toys and merchandise, however, will arrive at Toys 'R' Us a bit earlier – on October 28.
