Android taking a trip to Australia
It looks as if the Android fever is reaching new continents. Technology entrepreneur Ruslan Kogan from Kogan Technologies has announced plans to launch an Android phone in Aussie land for AU$199 (about US$140) by Christmas. According to reports, the device will feature a touch screen and a track ball, but will forego a physical keyboard.
Kogan Technologies is a relative newcomer to the Australian electronics market, undercutting the competition by selling Kogan-branded Chinese items direct to customers (and, according to their website, getting them "fair dinkum prices," whatever that means). Considering the fact that Christmas is just around the corner, it will be interesting to see is how well this phone holds up in the marketplace.
