Android driven Samsung i897 is alive and kicking on AT&T?
You know that something is definitely brewing when a handset goes from being somewhat non-existent almost a couple of months ago, seen again on paper a couple of days ago, and now having been snapped up for all to see. We've heard about the Samsung i897 a little bit after the events at CTIA unfolded with the Samsung Galaxy S being one of the biggest attractions to come out of it and eventually saw the Samsung i897 hit up the Bluetooth SIG. Then a couple days ago it came back onto the scene from out of nowhere and was speculated to become one of AT&T's serious Android contenders aside from the already available HTC Nexus One. Hopefully following the same path that's been trodden by the Dell Aero and not the Motorola BACKFLIP, it seems that AT&T won't be messing around with this phone too much to leave the experience intact. The device that was snapped in various poses clearly has the resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy S both on paper and design as it looks to feature a 4” AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, and Android 2.1. However, there is still no word on an official release date or pricing, but we've already heard about the rumors that it's looking to set foot some time in July.
