Android Pay introduces new transport features and virtual crackers for UK users
Google is pushing Android Pay strong in the UK, trying to make it the primary non-iOS service for mobile payments on the island. In an attempt to make its position solid, Google just announced some new features and promotions for UK Android Pay users.

There are two new features in the app, developed alongside Transport for London (TfL). The first is incomplete journey notifications. If you forget to tap in or out at any TfL station, the new feature will notify you the next day, so you can contact TfL and request a refund, if you've been charged too much. The second one will give you a daily travel summary. The app will track your payments and record station names and bus numbers, so you can check how much you spend on transport every day.

Google has given one more update, related to transport. UK users can now use Android Pay from inside the Uber app. This should make for far more convenient payment of your Uber rides. Also, starting next week, you can get up to 50% off for your next 10 rides. This promotion will cover up to £5 per ride.

The last surprise, that UK users will get, is virtual crackers that will be awarded to customers every time they use Android Pay in a store or for the TfL network. The crackers can be opened from inside the Android Pay app and might contain one of 100,000 gift cards. Additionally, after they open their first five crackers, UK users will receive a £3 gift card for Costa Coffee.

Google is also trying to spread the festive spirit worldwide by introducing festive animation that will be displayed with every payment. Unfortunately, they won't drop gift cards.
