Leakster says: Android 7 Nougat coming to the HTC 10 in Europe really soon
Back in August, HTC promised that owners of their latest flagship — the HTC 10 — and its one-year-old HTC One M9 and One A9 should expect an Android 7 Nougat update some time in Q4 of 2016. Well, we are well into the middle of Q4 and said users may be getting a bit anxious. Back in October, a benchmark leak showed us that there is (allegedly) a Nougat-based UI on an HTC 10 somewhere out there. Well, it seems that it may be almost ready for a full release!
According to ROM developer and HTC leakster with a respectable track record LlabTooFeR, European HTC 10 units will receive its major Android 7.0 (not 7.1?) update by the end of November or the beginning of December. Nothing is said about the US crowd, but we don't imagine it would take long for the new software to cross the pond. Unless your phone has been issued by a carrier — that usually results in some delays.
What's the big deal? Well, Nougat brings about new features, such as "App Shortcuts" (long-press acts like the iPhone's 3D Touch), actionable notifications, multi-window, better Doze mode, and lots more. Being a relatively light Android re-skin, Sense is most likely to benefit from those features.
