Android 5.0.2 Lollipop rolls out OTA for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE on Verizon
After last week's I/O keynote, many Android users are looking ahead to what's next with Android M, but the roll-out of Android Lollipop remains ongoing. In the latest development, Android 5.0.2 is now making its way to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE on Verizon, and if you happen to own this 4G-ready slate, then you should receive your notification of the OTA very shortly.
Waiting for an Android update can be rather tedious, particularly when you're stuck on an older version and an even newer piece of software, like Android M, is being waved in front of your nose. But if you're rocking a Verizon Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE, you should begin to see Android Lollipop 5.0.2 soon, if you haven't already.
Numbered T707VVRU1BOD4, the update includes all of the goodies we've come to expect from Android Lollipop, including the Material Design makeover and myriad bug fixes. After the sneak peek at Android M, the prospect of a Lollipop update might seem a tad less exciting, but nevertheless, major software updates touting new features and performance tweaks are always more than welcome.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is, along with the larger Galaxy Tab S 10.5, expected to be superseded by the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, with announcements rumored to be taking place this month. Leaks suggest both will be equipped with a metal chassis akin to the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone range, while each will probably also borrow the octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset of the S6 and S6 edge.
