Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus One will possibly arrive in May
In recent memory, the LG Optimus One proved itself to be one decent budget smartphone that was one of the first devices on the market to offer Android 2.2 Froyo. Still, LG was even more confident at the end of 2010 about the device since they mentioned that it would be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread some time down the road.
Well, it looks like we’re closing in on that reality seeing that LG India mentioned a time frame of some time before the end of May for Gingerbread’s arrival. However, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll arrive in a timely manner since the date “is subject to change.” Regardless of that, it’s just nice to know that the device is still going to get some love – despite witnessing some of its higher end siblings coming to market.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear at this point if that means we’ll see some of the variants of the device getting in with some sort of update as well. Still, it would be a daunting task for LG to accomplish, but there’s no denying that they can’t handle it.
