Android 2.1 update for the HTC Droid Eris starts to roll out tomorrow?
HTC Droid Eris owners should listen up good because it's possible that tomorrow may bring some good news towards their way – something that's been in the making for a while now. Verizon will soon have three devices available with Android 2.1 on board as a leaked internal memo sent out to certain Verizon Wireless employees said that the update should start rolling out starting tomorrow May 11th. Even though the words “tentatively scheduled” are on it, there is that slight glimmer of hope for long time owners to finally get situated with the latest version of the platform. Finally, the document boldly states that owners should backup all of their data before proceeding with the installation of the update. Sure the HTC Droid Incredible might have the hardware running under the hood that easily trumps the Droid Eris, but now they're on the same playing field now that Android 2.1 is potentially on the way. As long as there are no major problems seen with this roll out, hopefully all devices will be up to par before the end of the month.
