Most of us would clearly think that buying brand spanking new handsets on day one of launch would be reserved for carrier stores, but Amazon has this reputation of trumping prices left and right – this time around though, they've one-upped Verizon at their own game. As we've reported that the HTC Droid Incredible has officially gone on sale today, although it looks like it's currently sold out on Verizon's site, Amazon was quick to steal the thunder away from Big Red by selling the new high-powered Android 2.1 handset at $149.99 on contract. The $50 in savings can easily sway customers to look at Amazon for their needs and they're not only selling it cheaper than what Verizon is asking for, but they have them in stock as well. Now the deal obviously requires a two year commitment and is only valid on new activations – so customer with an eligible upgrade will need to look elsewhere. You'd better act quick before these sell out like hotcakes!
