Amazon smartphone with 3D display expected to be announced in June
Despite all the rumors about it, there was no Amazon smartphone in 2013. But it looks like the company’s very first handset will be introduced this year.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon is planning to announce the smartphone “by the end of June.” The device won’t be immediately available to purchase, though, as the giant retailer reportedly intends to start selling it at end of September.

The WSJ reports that Amazon has been demonstrating “versions” of its smartphone to unknown developers in Seattle and San Francisco over the last few weeks. It’s said that the handset would feature four front-facing camera sensors with retina-tracking technology, which should help it display 3D content for the naked eye. It's not the first time when we're hearing about something like this.

Details about the price of Amazon's smartphone aren’t available at the moment.

Amazon’s Kindle tablets have certainly made an impact on the portable device market. So let’s wait and see what Amazon’s smartphones can do. With the resources and global presence it has, Amazon could upset big players like Samsung and Apple with its own range of smartphones.
