Amazon slashes the price of the Android powered Archos 5 tablet to $240
Granted that it's not particularly one of the more highly prized Android powered tablets out there, its recent dramatic price drop might prove alluring for some people out there trying to get their first taste of tablet goodness.
Amazon has just slashed the price of the Archos 5 tablet to a mere $240 – which is a 52 percent savings from its original $500 pricing. Although you'll have to live knowing that it's only going to offer Android 1.6 Donut, some might even be put off knowing that it doesn't offer the core Google apps out there – like Gmail and Google Maps. Despite those major missing items, this 5” tablet sporting WVGA (480 x 800) resolution and an 800MHz processor might prove attractive since it boasts a whooping 500GB of internal memory. Now that's a lot of stuff you can pack into this Android tablet!
So if that's enough to get you rolling, then check out Amazon's web site to fetch yourself this amazing deal. Or just wait out for some of the more expensive upcoming Android tablets coming in the neat future.
