Amazon offers one-day sale on certain 7 inch Kindle Fire tablets to thank the FAA
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
If you're looking for a deal on a tablet, Amazon is running a one-day 15% off sale on selected Kindle Fire tablets. Right on its homepage on Monday, the retailer announced that it was thanking the FAA for revising its guidelines on the use of electronic devices in-flight. Last Thursday, the government agency relaxed its rules to allow cellphones and tablets to be used "gate to gate" although the devices must be in Airplane mode with no signal bars showing. If the plane does have Wi-Fi, you can connect to that service.
According to Amazon, it is reducing the price of the new Kindle Fire HDX 7 from $229 to $195, the Kindle Fire HD from $139 to $118 and the Kindle Fire from $69 to $59. All of these are models with a 7 inch screen. If you're looking for a great deal for the holidays, this might be it. But again, keep in mind that the prices are good for Monday only. Also keep in mind that Kindle Fire tablets do not offer any Google services. Amazon will sell you content, apps and cloud based storage for the slates.

Amazon has stepped up marketing of its newest line, the Kindle Fire HDX 7 and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. Both of these tablets offer the new Mayday button which allows you to have a video connection with an Amazon representative who will be able to draw and write on your screen to help troubleshoot a problem with the device.
