Amazon offers first accessory for the Motorola DROID X
While the handset won't be introduced until Wednesday, Amazon is already ready to ship an accessory for the Motorola DROID X starting on Tuesday. The online retailer is selling some protection for the super sleek and sexy device. The Skinami Tech Skin is available for $18.95 and offers "invisible" protection for the phone. Motorola is holding a press event on Wednesday and the speculation is that the manufacturer will formally make public a very poorly kept secret-the introduction of the DROID X with its 4.3 inch (or is that 4.4 inch?) display. As we reported, the phone could launch as soon as July 19th. While many new cellphone buyers procrastinate and end up buying protection for their phone only after its bounced against concrete a couple of times, Amazon is offering you the opportunity to receive an accessory for a device that theoretically doesn't even exist yet. And if the DROID X is built anything like the DROID is, it will easily survive the odd drop or three, but why take chances?
