Amazon Prime Video is now available on Android TV and Chromecast
Amazon and Google buried the hatchet not long ago, so many of their services have started to show up on each other's platform. Early this week, Amazon announced that the official YouTube app will be available on Fire TV devices, while Google confirmed Amazon Prime Video is now on Android TV and Chromecast.
Starting today, Amazon Prime Video will be accessible through Chromecast and Android TV devices. Google announced that Chromecast and Chromecast built-in users will have access to more than 2,000 apps and that they will be able to cast content directly from the Amazon Prime Video app to their TV.
The only things required are the latest Amazon Prime Video app and Android 5.0 or higher or iOS 10.1 or newer on the phone or tablet to receive the update. Chromecast Ultra users, on the other hand, will get access to 4,000 titles included with Prime at no additional cost.
Keep in mind that the new Amazon Prime Video app is available for download via Google Play Store, but if the icon shows up on your Android TV, you can simply click on it to start the download.

Finally, the Mountain View company confirmed that besides select Android TV devices that currently have Prime Video, additional Android TV smart TVs, set-top boxes and streaming devices will soon get the app as the rollout has already begun.
