Alpha release of Android 2.2 for the Acer Liquid is now available
As most of the current selection of Android devices are still awaiting to receive the Android 2.1 treatment, one unlikely candidate is already in the works to receive a port of Android 2.2 Froyo. The Acer Liquid may not have the most imposing specs out there, but it surely is looking to stand toe-to-toe with other recent devices we've been seeing sporting the latest build of the platform. Owners who are fortunate enough to handle the handset may be in for a surprise with this early alpha release that's sure to come with its fair share of bugs, however, it should be a lot better than some of those other Android sets excluded from the party. There's a long list of known issues with it, most notably the lack of Wi-Fi and the camera functionality, but it so happens to run smoothly while playing a decent looking game like Raging Thunder II. In addition, Flash video support is also chugging along at a decent frame rate to make the experience tolerable. However, it's noted that the handset isn't stable at CPU frequencies higher than the stock 768MHz, but don't push your luck unless you want to liquefy the experience.
