If you ever looked at the Chinese Android market, you have probably heard about AllWinner. The chip maker holds a large portion of the local market, and has just released its new AllWinner A20 chip, the world’s first dual-core Cortex A7 silicon. The A20 will continue pushing the affordability boundaries and promises to deliver five times the energy efficiency and 50% of a power boost compared to Cortex A8 chips.

It works with Android 4.1 and 4.2, and integrates an HDMI transmitter, LVDS interface, and integrated TV decoder.
The release of the chip means that we’ll soon start seeing the first Android devices based on it, and judging from MediaTek’s recent success, we wouldn’t be surprised if AllWinner also starts having international ambitions soon.
