Alleged leaked OnePlus Two render shows metal build

22comments
Another day, another episode in the OnePlus Two story. Yesterday, we told you that Liu Zuohu, CEO at OnePlus, teased that the upcoming OnePlus Two might come with a full metal build. Today, an allegedly-leaked render of the smartphone surfaced online on Weibo, lending further credibility to the notion of an all-metal OnePlus Two. Unfortunately, we only get to see the back of the handset, but that will have to do for the moment.

Now, before moving on to analyzing all the details that this render claims to reveal, make a mental note of the fact that there's no way to test the validity of the render. It could be the real deal, but then again, it could also be a fan-made concept render.

Aside from the full metal build, the first thing that comes to mind when confronted with this alleged render of the OnePlus Two is how thin the smartphone is. The OnePlus One measured 8.9 mm across its waist, and judging on this leaked render, its successor might be considerably thinner. Near the top and the bottom we can see some strips of plastic, ones that probably have to do with antenna reception. Also, we can see the the back of the smartphone is slightly curved, just like the back of its predecessor, the OnePlus One.

OnePlus officially confirmed that its second-gen "Flagship Killer" will come with a fingerprint reader, but this leaked render shows that it will probably be integrated in the home button, as the sensor is completely missing from the back of the handset.

Another interesting detail is that the render shows a single-sensor camera with a dual-LED flash. A previously-leaked sketch of the OnePlus Two hinted at a dual-camera setup on the back, but this detail is missing from the render.

The OnePlus Two will be unveiled in virtual reality on July 27. Until the day comes, be prepared for more leaks, rumors, and official teasers from the manufacturer.
