Alleged Sony Xperia Z5 press photos leak out, 23 MP rear camera visible
Earlier this week, Sony confirmed that it would announce "a smartphone with greater focus" on September 2 at IFA 2015. We're all expecting this new smartphone to be the Xperia Z5, possibly joined by an Xperia Z5 Compact.
Before Sony actually announces the Z5, it seems that we can already take a look at some press images of the handset. According to XperiaBlog, these images were posted on a Sony Mobile social media channel, though it appears that they've been quickly removed. Fortunately, we can still see them.
One of the Z5 press images shows that the new Xperia has a 23 MP rear camera. Most likely, this will use the same fast hybrid auto focus system that debuted on the Xperia M5. Only the rear and sides of the Z5 can be clearly seen in these new images, but we assume that the handset's front isn't too different from that of the Xperia Z3+.
Like the Z3+, the Sony Xperia Z5 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display, though it's not clear if its resolution is of 1080 x 1920 pixels, or 1440 x 2560 pixels. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM should also be included. Needless to say, the Z5 will be water-resistant, and it looks like it will have at least three color versions. We'll be here to let you know more about Sony's upcoming flagship smartphone as soon as official details arrive.
