All-new Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace (SM-J100F) pops up on Dutch retail website
Samsung does love to roll out smartphones on a regular basis, and has built up a reputation for flooding the market with a constant flow of new entries. This isn't a bad thing, of course, since most gadget fans abide the notion that more choice is better. But there can be a problem when Sammy pushes several almost indiscernible handsets, with different model numbers but apparently little else to separate them. The J Series of budget handsets, which began with the Galaxy J1 (SM-J100) earlier this year, could soon be accompanied by a newer version, with a 'Galaxy J1 Ace' (SM-J100F) having appeared on a Dutch website.
It would be a little presumptuous to suggest that the Galaxy J1 Pop is nothing more than a rebranded edition of the J1. But with NieuweMobiel.NL listing the device for the equivalent of $127 -- about the same price as the not-so-Ace J1 -- it seems very possible that Samsung is up to its old tricks. Unfortunately, we don't have any technical specifications to furnish you with at this point, but since this site has it up for order, an imminent announcement seems likely.
Once thing is more certain, and that is that Samsung is looking to build the J Series up rather quickly. As well as the J1 Ace, which may also launch as the 'Galaxy J1 Pop' in certain markets, there's rumor that a Galaxy J2 is also on the horizon. Add the pre-existing J5 and J7, and Samsung has quite a busy, growing family of budget handsets.
