All hail the architects! Sony launches Xperia Art Deco theme

Art Deco, a design style that became popular before World War I is the background of Sony's latest theme for Xperia smartphones. Mostly associated with luxury and modernity, Art Deco may seem obsolete to many of today's designers and architects.

The new Xperia Art Deco Theme released by Sony in the Google Play Store has little to do with the skyscrapers, first-class salons of ocean liners, or deluxe trains that bear the Art Deco design mark.

However, those looking for a theme with sober tones and colors may find Sony's Art Deco pack perfectly suitable for their smartphones. Although the colors are a bit on the darker side, the theme feels rather comfy and fresh. Also, notice the round icons, usually exclusive to Pixel Launcher, which are part of the customization package too.

According to Sony, the Art Deco theme was tested on Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3 and a few other Xperia smartphones. Keep in mind that while the Art Deco theme is available for free, it only support Xperia smartphones running at least Android 5.0 Lollipop.
