Alcatel's first global flagship, the Idol 3, is now available to pre-order in the US at the promotional price of $199.99 unlocked as part of a pre-sale campaign. When Alcatel announced the launch of Idol 3 pre-orders in the country a
couple of weeks ago, the manufacturer said that pre-orders will debut on April 21 at a price of $249.99, while also mentioning that the MSRP is one of $279.99. The pre-sale campaign expires on April 21st, or when stocks run out, whichever comes first.
With specs such as a 5.5-inch IPS LCD running at a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels (Full HD), a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of integrated storage space, and a microSD slot that accepts cards of up to 128GB in size, the
Alcatel Idol 3 seems to be a well rounded mid-ranger. Other specs include a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary shooter on the front, and a pair of front-facing stereo speakers from JBL. The Alcatel Idol 3 pre-order price of $249.99 was already attractive for an unlocked handset, but at $199.99, Alcatel's first major effort on US soil seems to be very promising. In the US, the smartphone is compatible with GSM networks operated by T-Mobile and AT&T.
