Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 is another selfie-centric smartphone
Alcatel today announced a brand new Android smartphone called OneTouch Flash 2. As we told you last month, this is a successor to the Alcatel One Touch Flash from 2014 - though it's smaller than its predecessor.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 sports a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, and is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core MediaTek MTK6753 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Other features: LTE connectivity, dual SIM support, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage space, microSD card support, and a 3000 mAh battery.
The new handset has a 5 MP front-facing camera (dubbed "Profie Cam" by Alcatel) with a soft LED flash and gesture controls, plus a 13 MP rear camera with a Samsung ISOCELL sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and phase detection auto focus. The green ring that surrounds the rear camera doesn't have any purpose other than being green - which Alcatel says is the new color of the OneTouch Flash family.
Needless to say, the OneTouch Flash 2 won't be expensive, though Alcatel has yet to announce its exact price. For the beginning, starting later this month, the new smartphone will be available in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
