Alcatel is one company you wouldn’t expect much from, but it has surprised us with a ton of exciting announcement at Mobile World Congress 2013, and the latest one is the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD.

A 5-inch Android phone with 720p display and MediaTek processor, the Touch Scribe HD was first unveiled at CES, but now we get to see it again in Barcelona.

In a nutshell, it features a 5-inch IPS display, 1GB of RAM and the exciting MT6589 quad-core chip by MediaTek. Those things allow it to keep the price low.

There is an 8-megapixel rear camera, 4 gigs of expandable storage, and a 2,500mAh battery.

The Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD is gearing up for launch in Q3 2012 for $400 off contract.
