Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 1X to be unveiled on February 24th
One day before the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be unveiled, and two days before the start of MWC, Alcatel will introduce three new handsets. These include the Alcatel 5 budget flagship model, the Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 1X. The trio will be announced on February 24th. The Alcatel 5 will feature a 5.7-inch nearly bezel-less display, carrying a resolution of 720 x 1440 (HD+) and a aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood is an MT6750 chipset, equipped with an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 1.5GHz. The Mali-T860 MP2 GPU is also on board.

The Alcatel 5 will also come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. A 12MP camera adorns the back of the phone, along with the fingerprint scanner. There will be a dual camera-setup in front, and a 3000mAh battery inside. Android 8.0 will be pre-installed.

The Alcatel 3V will feature a 6-inch screen with a 1080 x 2160 resolution. That works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. A MediaTek SoC with a quad-core CPU powers the handset, which will be equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. A dual camera setup (16MP + 2MP) is on back, along with a fingerprint sensor.

Lastly, the only information about the Alcatel 1X that we can pass along, is that the screen will have a lower resolution than the Alcatel 3V. Despite that, it will still feature an 18:9 aspect ratio. A single camera and a fingerprint scanner are on back, and this unit could be priced at less than $200.

Renders of all three of these Alcatel handsets, along with three other models, leaked out last November.
