After six years, Instagram finally gets zoom feature
Given how popular Instagram has become for sharing photos and short clips, it's fair to say that the user experience has often lagged behind the times. Only last year did the Facebook-owned network begin to support higher-resolution content, along with shots at aspect ratios other than the 1:1 square. Now, another seemingly missing feature has been added to the fold — zoom.
Not before time, Instagram has officially announced the zoom feature via its Twitter feed, and it works just as you might expect. If you find a photo or video you'd like to take a close look at, simply perform the famous pinch gesture, and voilà!

It's not exactly a revelation of an update, and given that Instagram has been around for some six years — under Facebook's wing for over four of those — it ought not have taken so long.
Currently, zoom is rolling out to those on iOS, though we'd expect Android to follow suit in the near future. Windows? Hmm, probably not.
