Google revealed a completely redesigned
Pixel Launcher that comes pre-installed on the
Pixel 2 and
Pixel 2 XL smartphones. As such, the new changes are slowly starting to make their way into some of the more popular Android launchers.
The first to add some of the new Pixel Launcher's style is Chris Lacy's
Action Launcher. Version 29.0 has just been released in the Google Play Store and brings a customizable Pixel 2-style dock search.
So, aside from the fact that you get to use the Pixel 2's dock search box, but you'll also be able to customize it with your favorite background color, shape, as well as shortcuts. You can find all these personalization options under Action Launcher's Quickbar editor.
Besides the new dock search box, Action Launcher 29.0 also gained the ability to use the “G” style
Google logos to customize the search box's corner radius to make it look more rounded.
Action Launcher 29.0 is available for free in the Google Play Store right now. It requires devices running Android 4.1 and up, but some feature will only work on much newer versions of the OS.
