Acer warns that it will find difficult to fulfill all the orders received for its Iconia line of tablets
Acer got smart and arranged carrier partnerships to sell its Iconia line of tablets subsidized. The one we are most looking forward to is the Acer Iconia Tab A500 (see our MWC hands-on here), because of its brushed metal design, great specs, and the fact that it should appear on Verizon with LTE connectivity this month or the next.
Acer, however, just warned that it got much more orders for its Iconia tablets than predicted, and it will have trouble fulfilling them all, for various reasons. The company cites touch panel shortages for the mishap. We don't know if that's true, but Acer certainly has an enticing portfolio in store - a Windows 7-based tablet, the Iconia Tab A500 with Honeycomb, as well as a smaller 7" Iconia Tab A100. To cap it off, it will also ship its elongated smartphone/tablet hybrid - the 4.8" Acer Iconia Smart.
Not a bad roster, and we can't wait to get our hands on the retail units, hopefully the alleged supply issues won't affect the launch dates this month.
