AT&T starts seeding Android 8.0 Oreo for Samsung Galaxy S7 Active
The Galaxy S7 Active is one of the most recent Samsung smartphones to receive the long-awaited Android 8.0 Oreo update. Although it's not as popular as the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the Galaxy S7 Active found its audience in the United States through AT&T.
And it looks like those who went for Samsung rugged flagship have now been rewarded by the South Korean company and AT&T, as the carrier is now rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update. This is the second major OS update that the Galaxy S7 Active receives after AT&T released Nougat more than a year ago.
According to the changelog notes published by AT&T, the update also contains the April security patch. Also, if you wonder how sizeable this update really is, then the answer is 1.5GB. Aside from Android 8.0 Oreo and the April security patch, the update also adds Mobile Hotspot APN support and FirstNet IOC2.
Before downloading the update make sure you have enough storage and that your phone's battery is at least 50% charged since this is a massive update that will take some time to install.
