AT&T to launch Pixi Plus on June 6th, along with Vu Plus?
With the Palm Pre Plus finally making it to AT&T on Sunday, there might be a few people out there wondering about when the Pixi Plus might be released by the carrier. A tipster has told Engadget that the Pixi Plus will be launched on June 6th for the operator at a price of $49.99 after a $100 rebate and your signature on a 2 year contract. By the time this does take place, Verizon might be paying you to take the Pixi Plus off their hands. Seriously though, why would anyone pay money for the same phone at AT&T when Big Red is offering the handset and mobile hot spot services for free? Well, how about a free Touchstone charger for a limited time? As we reported, AT&T is offering the charger free for a limited time with the purchase of the Pre Plus, but we have no idea if the Pixi Plus is included in this offer. As the launch gets closer, we should be able to get the definitive word on this.
Besides the Pixi Plus, June 6th is also expected to be the launch date of the new LG Vu Plus. Replacing the original model, which has grown old and weary-even with mobile television-the Vu Plus will be priced at $149.99 after a rebate, with a 2 year contract. On the 6th, you can also find the Samsung Rugby II for $129.99 and Pantech's Pursuit for $49.99. AT&Ts line-up is getting hotter as the weather warms up.
