AT&T to carry Pebble smartwatch with September 27th release date
The Pebble smartwatch, which raised millions of dollars in funding on Kickstarter before hitting the shelves at Best Buy, will be available from AT&T stores and its website starting on September 27th. The price will be $150. The watch uses a Bluetooth connection to connect with your iOS or Android handset. You can view text and email notifications and be alerted to phone calls.
You can change the design of the watch face and even download third party faces. Apps are available for health enthusiasts, golfers, cyclists and others. And the music application allows you to listen to your favorite artists on the go. The Pebble Watch is water resistant and comes with a rechargeable battery that can last as long as 7 days depending on usage.
Right off the bat, the Pebble smartwatch is nearly $150 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch and works with more than one phone, unlike Samsung's timepiece. The latter only works with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
