AT&T revises pricing on Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-orders; 16GB model will be $199.99 on contract
Back late last month, we passed along to you the word that AT&T would start accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on April 16th. That part, at least, was correct. But for some reason that may never be explained, the carrier posted that pre-orders would be $249.99 with a signed two year contract. While some were upset, considering that most carriers are thinking about ways to wean the public off subsidized pricing of new handsets, no one thought twice about this. $249.99 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 might have seemed a little pricey, but it could be understood in the current environment.
As it turns out, AT&T wasn't making a statement with its pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S4 after all. The mobile operator had merely left out a few words from its statement. Nothing important mind you, just that the $249.99 price was for the 32GB version of the upcoming Android phone. The 16GB model will be priced at the expected $199.99 with a signed contract. AT&T has yet to announce a launch date for the phone.
