Nothing wrong with an honest-to-goodness cheap prepaid phone, and the AT&T R225 fits exactly that bill. The EDGE-only handset has some web browsing, email and IM capabilities, but what you'd mainly be using it for is, of course, talking and texting, given the 1.8" display on the AT&T R225.
There is also a music player and a microSD card support up to 8GB. The USB charger can load up the 800mAh battery with enough juice for 5.3 hours of talk time. The affordable candybar doesn't have many other bells and whistles, but with a rock-bottom $19.99 price tag, it doesn't need to. The handset is made by ZTE, and is available in AT&T's GoPhone lineup.
