From Las Vegas on Tuesday, comes word of a new smartcase from AT&T called the Modio. The case performs a bit of magic as it takes the Wi-Fi only version of certain Apple iPad models, and allows them to connect to the carrier's 4G LTE pipeline. The models involved include the Apple iPad Air 2, Apple iPad Air, Apple iPad mini 3Apple iPad mini 2, and the Apple iPad mini.
Besides connecting your iPad to AT&T's LTE network, the Modio also features a 4600mAh battery that gives you 10 hours of continuous use. And a 32GB capacity microSD slot also adds extra storage space for iPad users. There is even a Modio app that allows you to keep track of how much data you're burning through.
The AT&T Modio smartcase will be available for purchase from both AT&T's brick and mortar and online stores, although we have received no information on pricing or availability. This could prove to be a very useful product for those with a supported iPad model who needs to take his Wi-Fi only tablet, and use it while on the go. Of course, an AT&T account will be necessary.
