AT&T rolling out Android 9.0 Pie update to the LG V35 ThinQ
AT&T is the first US carrier to release the long overdue LG V35 ThinQ Android 9.0 Pie update, because it's one of the few that volunteered to do that. Well, apart from Google Fi, which is why theoretically AT&T is the first carrier to offer the update.
Anyway, it appears that AT&T published the official Android 9.0 Pie changelog, but there's not much of information in it that's worth mentioning. Apart from the fact that it includes the May security patch and that's it's a very large update (1.46GB), AT&T didn't provide any additional details.
According to AT&T, LG V35 ThinQ owners can download the update via FOTA (firmware over the air), which requires the phone to be connected to Wi-Fi. If you haven't been notified about the update, you can manually check for it by heading to System / AT&T Software updates / Check for Updates.
As far as the unlocked model goes, there's no ETA for an Android 9.0 Pie release, which is kind of sad since this is probably the most popular version sold in the US. Well, let's hope LG will push out the same update for unlocked V35 ThinQ sooner rather than later.
