ASUS reveals U.K. pricing and launch dates for the MeMO Pad tablets
ASUS has a pair of tablets that it will be releasing soon in the U.K. The MeMO line, which stands for "My Mobile. My Moment," right now consists of a 10.1 inch model and a 7 inch variant. Let's start with the former. The ASUS MeMO Pad tablet ME301T, also known as the Smart 10, features a 10.1 inch IPS LCD screen with resolution of 1280 x 800. The resulting pixel density on the tablet works out to 149ppi which is nothing to be overly excited about. A quad-core Tegra 3 processor is under the hood with 1GB of RAM on board. 16GB of native storage is included, which can be expanded using a microSD card. The back and front cameras weigh in at 5MP and 1.2MP respectively and Android 4.1 is installed out of the box.

The ME301T will be available only in Midnight Blue at its March 7th launch, although other colors will eventually be released. The slate can be pre-ordered now from retailers such as currys.co.uk, pcworld.co.uk, tesco.com and amazon.co.uk for 249 GBP ($378 USD). The tablet will be available in stores starting March 7th. Besides Android related features found on the OS like Project Butter and Google Now, the device offers ASUS' own SuperNote Lite which allows users to read, type and scribble Notes anywhere. Users can create Microsoft Office compatible documents using WebStorage Office and apps can be protected with a password using App Locker. Another ASUS feature, App Backup, creates backups of installed apps using native storage or on a microSD card.

The second MeMO Pad tablet is the ME172V which offers a 7 inch LCD screen with resolution of 1024 x 600 and a pixel density of 170ppi. Powered by a single-core 1GHz processor, the model has the Mali-400 GPU on the graphics side of the board. 1GB of RAM is inside as is the 8GB of storage which can be enhanced up with a microSD card. A 1.3MP front-facing camera in included and the tablet runs on Android 4.1. Available in Titanium Grey, the device will be priced at 129 GBP ($196 USD) and is expected to be found online and at retailers in the middle of April. Like its larger sibling, there will be some ASUS specific features on the slate like BuddyBuzz which lets you monitor all of your social networks in one location
