ASUS asks you to solve a riddle before it announces something pretty interesting at CES
The folks at ASUS packed their luggage and left for Las Vegas, leaving only a cryptic note written in morse code to warm us up for the company's upcoming CES announcements! What does the message read, though? Well, if you enjoy deciphering morse in your leisure time, stop reading now, watch the video, and go on about cracking the code!
Or just get to the meat and potatoes right away - the code spells "optical zoom". Well, that's not much of a clue to obsess over, but we can stil throw in a hypothesis or two. Maybe ASUS is about to bring some kind of optical zoom to its smartphones? History has shown that such a feat isn't at all impossible, but it mostly results in the kinds of smartphones that only their mommy and our own Nick T., bless his heart, can love. Perhaps the camera-focused ASUS has developed a more elegant solution and is about to rattle Sony and Corephotonics' cages?
We'll see. Either way, ASUS confirmed in advance that the optical zoom is a feature of one of its highlights at the show, so it looks like the announcement will be important enough to be heard loud and clear at its keynote.
