The Asus ROG Phone could begin shipping in late October
Asus introduced the world to the ROG Phone way back in June. But over three months later, there is yet to be any official confirmation in regards to the device’s release date. If a new listing on the website of retailer GearBest is accurate, though, the official release date may have been revealed.
According to the retailer, the ROG-branded gaming smartphone will begin shipping out between October 22 and October 24 when it comes to orders placed through its website. This would suggest that orders placed through Asus’ own website will begin shipping a bit sooner, probably on Friday, October 19.
For those unaware, the Asus ROG Phone boasts a large 6-inch AMOLED display and is equipped with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 845. In addition to this, the model announced in June will ship with 8GB of RAM and the choice of 128GB or 512GB of internal storage. Since then, however, new information has surfaced which suggests that variants with 4GB and 6GB of RAM will also go on sale eventually. When it comes to the camera department, a main 12-megapixel camera adorns the rear and is coupled with a secondary 8-megapixel sensor. As there is still no official word from Asus, the release date listed by GearBest could still be wrong. But more often than not, these online retailers receive their information from companies directly which would suggest that Asus will officially confirm the release date in the coming weeks.
