AI powered Google News app now available in the App Store and Google Play Store

The brand spanking new AI powered Google News app hit the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store on Tuesday. When the app is opened, "For You" brings you a brief look at five stories based on your past reading interests; this is a combination of top headlines, local stories, and topics that Google has detected an interest in on your part. Using machine learning capabilities, the app helps analyze the headlines and puts stories about the same subject matter together into "newscasts." This helps you quickly get up to date about a particular story.

If you want to dig deeper, "Full Coverage" will provide you with "top headlines from different sources, videos, local news reports, FAQs, social commentary, and a timeline for stories that have played out over time." Since Google News doesn't have an agenda, controversial stories are presented from all sides, and everyone receives the same "Full Coverage" on a certain story. As Google says, "it’s an unpersonalized view of events from a range of trusted news sources."

Google News also includes Headlines for an "unfiltered" look at what is happening around the world. Other sections will allow you to read in depth on subject matters like technology, sports, business, entertainment and more. And the Newstand tab allows you to scan a library of more than 1,000 magazines that you can choose to subscribe to and read using a mobile-optimized platform. Subscribers will be able to access their magazines on all devices using Google News, Google Search and the publisher's website.

You can install the app now on iOS or Android by clicking on the appropriate link.
