AT&T isn’t the only North American carrier that will
accept pre-orders for the
Samsung Galaxy S5 starting March 21. U.S. Cellular announced that it, too, will allow customers to pre-order the new handset come tomorrow. Just like AT&T, U.S. Cellular is asking $199.99 for the Galaxy S5 on contract, and it will have two color versions at launch: Charcoal Black and Shimmery White.
The new Galaxy smartphone will be available at U.S. Cellular on April 11 - when it will likely also be released by AT&T. The Samsung Gear 2, Samsung Gear 2 Neo and Samsung Gear Fit will also be available that day. U.S. Cellular is throwing in a $50 Google Play promotional code for all customers who will pre-order the S5 online.
We’re assuming that Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile are also getting ready to start taking pre-orders for the S5 later this month.
As you may know, the Galaxy S5 is Samsung's first smartphone to come with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, a built-in heart rate monitor, and a fingerprint scanner. Other features include a dust- and water-resistant case, Android 4.4. KitKat, LTE connectivity, 16MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal memory, and a 2,800 mAh battery.
