8 hilarious (and terrifying) Pokemon Go stories from the week
Pokemon Go is blowing up. So much so that Nintendo, which owns a third of the Pokemon franchise, has seen its shares soar to near double their value since the release of the monster hit. Not so much its financials, but that's another story.
Of course, Pokemon Go isn't the first game to go crazy viral. Nor is it the first title to bring a beloved franchise to mobile. But the draw of the game, combined with its augmented reality design, has combined to bring us some pretty darn hilarious—and sometimes rather scary—anecdotes of people going about their Pokemon thing in the real world.
If you're as uninterested in the game as I am—Yu-Gi-Oh kid here—you'll sure enjoy the silly stuff that people have gotten themselves into walking around glued to their phone. Here are a few great excerpts:
