4.3 inch Asus PadFone mini now official
As expected, on Wednesday, Asus announced the Asus PadFone mini. Just like the full-sized PadFone models, the phone fits into a dock on the back of the tablet to drive the slate. The Asus PadFone mini offers a 4.3 inch screen carrying resolution of 540 x 960 with a quad-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8226 processor under the hood. 1GB of RAM is on board along with 16GB of native storage. A 1500mAh battery powers the handset. The tablet dock has a 7 inch screen with resolution of 1200 x 800 and is powered by a 2200mAh cell inside.
The Asus PadFone mini will be available in China, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia with no plans for wider distribution at this time. Asus has not announced a specific launch date at the moment. The price of the whole package works out to about $400. If you want a more powerful and full-sized hybrid system, Asus offers the Asus PadFone Infinity which includes a 5 inch screen, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 13MP rear camera. The tablet dock is equipped with a 10.1 inch display.
