4-inch Apple iPhone 6c to be released in the middle of next year?
Last July, Jefferies' analyst Ange Wu reported that Foxconn had landed a huge order for metal casings to be used for an Apple iPhone 6c. Wu added that the phone would be released in the first half of 2016. Now, over four months later, we are hearing the same story from IHS Technology Research Director Kevin Wang.
Wang posted the information on his Weibo page, and the only spec mentioned is the 4-inch display that the phone will carry. Making the story much more plausible is that it's somewhat confirmed by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. When it comes to Apple, no analyst has a track record like Kuo. Back in April, he correctly predicted that Apple would not introduce a 4-inch unit during the September introduction of the latest iPhone models.
Thanks for the tip!

Earlier this month, Kuo said that Apple was prepping a 4-inch iPhone that would be mass produced during the first half of this year. Unlike Wu and Wang's story, Kuo sees the new 4-inch model released next fall, along with the Apple iPhone 7 and presumably the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The smaller-screened model will be powered by the Apple A9 chipset says Kuo, at a time when the iPhone 7 will be rockin' the new A10 SoC. According to Kuo, the 4-inch phone will be presented by Apple as a budget priced handset for smartphone buyers.
