100,000 Apple iPhone 4 units sold in just four days in China
The world's largest cell phone market only recently was able to say hello to the Apple iPhone 4 as China Unicom began selling the highly priced smartphone. Demand for it has been nothing short of impressive as the initial shipment of 100,000 units were completely sold out in just four days.
There's barely any breathing room for the mobile operator since it's reported that approximately over 200,000 pre-orders have been placed for the device – which prompted them to stop taking additional pre-orders due to the staggering amount of demand. Looking back at previous iPhone launches in China, it took nearly a month for China Unicom to sell 100,000 units when the iPhone 3G and 3GS were launched.
Naturally, positive remarks from the media as well from those customers adopting the handset into their care are probably some of the reasons for the strong sales out of the gates, but with so many orders to fill, China Unicom is expecting to see the next round of shipment come in some time around October 1st.
