Not surprised to hear that. I guess the ribbon cable failed at some point after a few thousand slide-outs of the keyboard. I actually tried repairing it myself, but unknowingly bought a Sprint version of the spare part (cable + PCB) instead of a T-Mobile one. (Remember when different carriers had different versions of the same phone?) It fixed the screen, but then the earpiece stopped working. Again, fun times :)

Yup. CDMA parts vs GSM parts used to mess everyone up. And it was like that for smartphones or feature phones. The guts on a CDMA RAZR flip phone were totally different from the guts on a GSM RAZR flip phone. "Fun" times indeed. ?

This one's easy for me. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and second place is so far away that it doesn't even register. I was a big WinMo fan, particularly the WinCE-based phones but this one was just such a POS on every level. I went from that abortion that lived to The Last Emperor (HTC HD2).

My first and last iphone. Bought an iPhone 11 pro max. The limitations of iOS drove me to trade it in and go back to Android.

That's a tricky one...

The Galaxy Young (my first modern smartphone) must've been the most sluggish one but that's understandable given the price and the state of budget phones at the time.

The Galaxy A5 (2016) was great until it suddenly decided to heat up to a point of no return. I had to leave it outside as I was worried it'll blow up (it didn't but I decided to play it safe by getting rid of it). No such issues with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. ?

Although smartphones are slowly approaching the ceiling of what's possible today, the exciting bit is that you can hardly go wrong with any brand/model. A 2016 mid-range phone came with a fair number of red lights, which isn't the case in 2023. The next step is to make great budget phones more accessible. A large portion of the population in developing countries don't own a smartphone in the first place.

Help me understand the relevance.

LG G3, there were definitely things I liked about it but it would overheat every 5 minutes in the summer. The 1440p screen was just too much to handle for the poor SD 801. My older Oppo Find 5 performed way better in general.

Razr Phone 2

I bought that phone because it was the first Phone with 120hz refresh rate, and it was the second attempt Razr made so it was supposed to be a really good gaming phone with good performance. Before I start complaining, I will say it had the best speakers on any phone I have ever owned, (but that doesn't justify everything else that was wrong with it).

It took me about 2 weeks to get the phone set up to where I could use it. I had to factory reset about 4 times in that 2 weeks before I could actually get it up and running. It would completely freeze about once a week, and I would have to reboot it. In the last month I owned it, I had to reboot about 2-4 times a day. Chrome would usually cause it to do that, and I use Chrome a lot. There were so many little bugs I had never seen before and when I Googled them there were no results. It fried a charger and I was scared to continue using that cable any more. The LCD, combined with 120hz refresh made the battery drain faster than I have ever seen. It was uncomfortable to hold since it was a square box with all right angles, it would always cut into my hand, even with a case. I bought that phone in March as it had been out for a few months and was steeply discounted in price, that should have been my first clue. I sold it by Oct and moved on to the best phone I ever had, the OP 7 Pro. So it was a huge contrast in experience once I finally got off that phone. I sold that crap it to a friend of a friend that I didn't like very well.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4. That horrible slide-to-use fingerprint scanner was a bad joke. The whole phone was a letdown over the Note 3.

Same as the "best-looking phone" I've ever owned - LG G4 with leather back. Like thousands, or perhaps hundreds of thousands of other G4's it bricked itself after about 1 year. POS phone.

Pretty easy to understand. The phone had overheating issues. Maybe work on your reading comprehension.
