Eventually started using Blackberrys as work phones only. I miss the keyboard for work emails and texts. But again newer third party made blackberrys had a really bad build quality - both my Key1 and Key2 were wrecks.

One vote for the physical keyboard....maan, that is something I miss the most!

the normal gboard on a Pixel is what I use. It's been a problem for me since day 1 of swiping.. so my guess is I just do something different that is unexpected. Maybe I hold my finger on the first letter a little too long.

I do have the "hold for symbols" option checked.

I have the symbols on the Samsung keyboard so that's shouldn't affect it. I think you might be holding your finger on the first letter too long.

Notification light. Simple, functional and nigh impossible to mess it up.

What's your delay before it transitions to symbols? Mine is 170ms

Physical Keyboard for me. One as feature rich as the ones on the BlackBerry Key devices.

I could possibly go for that if it had a Dvorak keyboard (with the legends on the keyboard!) , but that probably would still be too error prone for my stiff fat fingering, so what I would would like is a built-in stylus like the LG Stylo models had (although a but thicker), and the original Windows Phones (based on their Pocket PC - the real first "smart phones" before iPhone came along), which is where I learned to love that input method.

Also, a vote for removable batteries, although I have found that most "sealed" phones can be opened to replace the battery, although not a simple matter of popping off the back cover.

Luckily, when my LG 8xThinQ lost support from LG (I do have to give them credit for upgrading it to Android 12 - started from Android 9 - well after officially exiting the phone market), I found the Samsung A54 on sale at Best Buy for a lot less than their over-hyped S23 series, while still having a mSD slot and water resistance.

I don't miss headphone jacks as I can only hear in one ear, so usually cut off the "extra" cord to reduce the clutter. Now I am ok with my Jabra mono bluetooth headset that hangs on my good ear (although that gets sore after too long a time).

Thanks!! Will change my 170ms to 200ms to match yours to see if that makes a difference!

A Memory slot have no more place in phones because is super super slow in data transfer. 3.5mm jack and a replaceable battery have no chance because of the IP68. Probably in the budgets other the midrangers but all that is simply not compatible with the flagships tendency since a couple of years. Im missing a... HTC style and wish it comeback. The body and UI design was unique. Like a jewelry.

I remember phones having these little holes for a strap, some brands still have them, and most cases do.

My Sony Xperia 5 III has those little holes still.
