Debate: How many cameras should a smartphone have? What type and why?

if we're talking on Samsung, let's say they keep the MP amount (200MP) but at least increase the sensor from 1/1.33" to 1-inch.

Ultrawide from 12MP 1/2.55" increase it to 103MP 1/1.33" like Tecno did.

For the zoom, there is the LG sensor that was mentioned that can do a continous zoom from 4x - 9x zoom using one sensor.

Laser sensor for depth.

Normal, ultrawide, zoom at 3x minimum covers all the necessities. Macro and Periscope are optional goodies.

One on the rear and one on the front. The rear could/should be designed like the Galaxy S4 Zoom with at least a "near 1 inch" sensor (if not an actual 1 inch sensor). Then using the periscope technology, have it able to zoom from .5x all the way to at least 10x (something like a 13mm to 250mm focal length).

These are exactly my words too! I can't wait to see that tech implemented in phones, so the main camera could also be the zoom camera with continuous optical zoom.
