The new Honor Magic V2 weighs less than an iPhone pro max it's nearly as thin as a slab phone, it has a larger battery (5000 mAh) than Samsung's or Google's foldables and it comes with a stylus. How is that not exciting? What exactly did you want?

it’s just not. /shrug

I pre-ordered the fold 5 only cause my note 10plus is on its last leg, but if it definitely could have lasted another year I would have waited til the note 6 with hopes it would then include a larger outer display, s-pen slot, and expandable memory. Those are what made me buy the Note 7, note 8, and note 10. Did they drop the ball? Yes. They used to be the top phone maker in my opinion but then they started removing more and more "goodies" cause apparently iPhones don't have them. Well we're samsung fans mostly because we like to do things iphones cant. And every year samsung is edging closer and closer to making an iPhone on Android. And eventually we'll have no reason to stay with android & samsung.

Good call. I concur with your statements.

They are a bit of a disappointment, mainly for the fact that if shelling out $1000 or more for a device, it should come with that manufacturers best of the best camera system, not their "flagship" camera system form 2-3 years ago.

Wasn't that long ago that $1000 got you a real honey of a phone. My first Note, the Note 3, was purchased in October 2013 from Verizon for $300. The state of the art then. Removable battery, micro SD card slot, IR emitter...After using that Note 3 for two months I got one for my fiancee as a Christmas present.

Fold 5 - a bit disappointed there is no S Pen housing and that it's still tall and narrow. Maybe the 6 will offer passport form factor.

Flip 5 - I'm happy with the new cover screen and am buying it. (Trading in my S23 Ultra, trade-in credit is more than I paid for the device. Had the Flip 4, but traded it for the S 23 Ultra, loved the "carryability" but hated the cover screen.)

No way! Don't make that downgrade trade!

S-pen aside, you're losing better camera, getting less ram (if you have the 512Gb version w/12Gb RAM), and better screen real estate for content consumption.

What do you gain from the flip other than a phone you can bend in half only to protect a weaker, more delicate screen?

Nah, don't do it!

All valid points, but for my usage (most of my content consumption is on my Tab S8 Plus at home) and ease of carrying is too appealing - assuming the coverscreen + Good Lock play nicely together.

Disappointment ? Hardly . Z flip 5 sales are on fire. How is it almost identical to its predecessor when the screen outside is 3.4 inches compared to 1.5 inches? Another article written by an iPhone fan boy.

Samsung only took the SD card slot away because internal storage is now at 256gb compared to 64gb in the early days of phablets . The z flip 5 gave us a bump up to 512gb of storage which is twice as much as I need to be honest. I don't think Samsung dropped the ball at all. They are on top when it comes to innovation and producing flagship phones .

Not everyone is a professional photographer. Me being one of the people that fall in that category. If you want a superior camera then may I suggest the s23 ultra ?

Yes, Sammy could have integrated the all app function into the settings instead of using GooLock (or third party Coverscreen OS) but - since I use Sammy's watch and tablet, I'm okay with that situation. If I'm disappointed again with the Flip, I'll get either the 24 Ultra or the Fold 6 - if it adopts the passport form factor.

Good Lock is one of the 1st things that I download when buying a new phone. I like expanding my devices capabilities. It's free and it's optional so no fuss.
