They’re virtually the exact same phones as the previous ones, the specs are midrange at best, and the cameras are something that are found on entry level devices. Yet for all that, you’re expected to pay a HUGE price premium, all to stare at an ugly crease.

Lets wait and see how innovative and different is your boss phone from iPhone 11 pro (That monkey island is the biggest change until now). Been waiting for 4 years now. Heard its coming with HUGE change in charging method!! Hilarious at best..:)

I can confirm that the Honor Vs and the Honor V2 are both very capable and, in my opinion, better than the Z Fold.

Thanks for that, I figured as much as well.

I'm sure the Z fold is a perfectly capable device, so Im not overly interested in performance gains or weaknesses, but it is good to know they are excellent performers.

That Honor V2 with its insanely slim build is just next level, as thin as a normal phone almost and still lighter then iphone 14 pro max.

Chinese engineers keep pushing boundaries while Samsung sleeps at the wheel, something we often accuse apple of, just drip feeding average minimal upgrades because they can.

dissapointing for sure but fairly good deals compared with the ones when S23U was released, someone wanted me to get her the flip and paid $683 (~$285 to Samsung and $398 for flip4 on eBay for trade in) for the 512 gb flip, buds2 pro and Watch 6 Classic with hybrid leather band and extra fabric band. Assuming I can sell the watch and the buds for $300 that's an ok phone for $383.

@Mariyan how is the software experience on the Honor V2? That's the only think preventing me from considering it to upgrade my Fold2

Fold 5 - a bit disappointed there is no S Pen housing and that it's still tall and narrow. Maybe the 6 will offer passport form factor.

Flip 5 - I'm happy with the new cover screen and am buying it. (Trading in my S23 Ultra, trade-in credit is more than I paid for the device. Had the Flip 4, but traded it for the S 23 Ultra, loved the "carryability" but hated the cover screen.)

It's not just the crease because I doubt that there will ever be a solution to the crease in any foldable screen. The problem is what the crease represents... which is a fragile, excessively expensive gimmick phone. I still predict that they will eventually fade into oblivion once the novelty wears off. But I could be wrong because the world is full of iD10ts and lollipops (suckers) who will throw good money at bad tech! SMH

I'm mostly an idiot and definitely a sucker for bad tech. Specially the very expensive type of tech.

It's very similar to Honor Magic Vs. You can get used to it quickly, I think.

I still think the Motorola Razr Plus is a better device with a more functional cover screen.

Well you're honest about it! That's the first step towards healing. I'm a sucker for some new tech but my experience with computers in general allows me to be discerning on whether something is a gimmick or not. YMMV
