The prices of the new Fold 5 and Flip 5 are just ridiculous...and the crease is the nail in the coffin..

The Fold 5 does nothing to make me want it. I would have kept my Fold 3 if it wasn't for the fact the screen was cracking and it was out of warranty, and Samsung offered the sweet trade in so I only paid $500 for the fold 4. I usually have my Fold 4 in my bag for work, and when I show people that versus the Mate Xs2 and how that screen folds out, people always like the Huawei better. I really wish that more consumers could see the foldable phones they have in China. The Chinese manufacturers all make a superior product to Samsung.

I want a filding device, but quite frankly the Samsung fold range is boring and outdated already, the likes of Honor and Huawei are leagues ahead in terms of design, sadly Huawei is very expensive with caveats, and Honor has yet to announce international release and pricing, but that thing is insanely good looking. the fold just looks and feels clunky, and that narrow horrible front screen is the deal breaker for me

It's only a disappointment if you thought it'd be a meaningful upgrade over the fold 3 and 4.

I can confirm that the Honor Vs and the Honor V2 are both very capable and, in my opinion, better than the Z Fold.

The Huawei Mate Xs2 is the only truly creaseless phone I had the pleasure of testing, and it comes with its own drawbacks.

I have the z fold 4 and looking to trade it in for the 5. Not because I'm super excited for the 5 but rather because the 4 is already failing me with it's unrefined hinge. Also, the trade in I get from the 4 will mostly cover the costs of the 5.

Hell yea it's a disappointment. I'm so disinterested in it that I don't even know what's different on it compared to last years' Fold. Samsung has become complacent with their foldables. Hopefully the Pixel Fold & OnePlus Open will give it competition in the US to make them step their game up.

Foldables in general have not ended up as exciting as I thought they would have been. I just stuck to my Pixel 6 Pro since there were too many tradeoffs such as worse camera, less battery life, less durable, higher price, etc.

It's not just the crease because I doubt that there will ever be a solution to the crease in any foldable screen. The problem is what the crease represents... which is a fragile, excessively expensive gimmick phone. I still predict that they will eventually fade into oblivion once the novelty wears off. But I could be wrong because the world is full of iD10ts and lollipops (suckers) who will throw good money at bad tech! SMH
