Apple Vision Pro gets two popular virtual desktop apps
Apple has been marketing the Vision Pro as a productivity and entertainment machine since the headset’s inception. So it only made sense for two very popular desktop enhancement apps — Duet Display and Screens — to make their way to the headset.

Duet Display is an app that lets you turn your iPhone, iPad or other tablet into a second display for your Mac or PC. It also lets you connect with your desktop remotely.

Screens is very similar and allows users to control their Mac or PC from anywhere in the world. This can be done with either an iPhone, an iPad or another Mac.

Duet Display on the Vision Pro will let you have multiple displays running at the same time, all extended from your desktop. You can also use your Vision Pro to access your Mac or PC remotely.

Screens, in its latest update to version 5.2, now brings Vision Pro support. And it’s exactly what the Vision Pro was made for. You can access multiple Mac and PC desktops from anywhere in the world.

Screens also has a very useful feature called Curtain Mode. Curtain Mode makes it so that the desktop you’re accessing remotely doesn’t show your activity on its screen.

Despite poor sales Apple is confident that its flagship XR headset is the future of computing. In a recent earnings call Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that half of the Fortune 100 companies had bought a Vision Pro.

And during the May 7 Apple Event Cook told us about all the new ways the Vision Pro was being used across industries. I’m also still holding out hope for a cheaper Vision Pro so that Apple’s XR products become more accessible to the average consumer.

The Vision Pro is one of the best AR headsets we’ve ever used. And as more and more apps like Duet and Screens get ported to it, the more it becomes a worthwhile expense. But it’s still got a long way to go before it can compete with a MacBook.
